One of the best things I did was connect with NZSWR when I decided to make the bold move to New Zealand. They were friendly and full of knowledge. They guided me through all the paperwork and matched me to jobs that suited my career goals. They were there step by step and to this day still keep in touch to see how things are doing. It's been very reassuring to have them support me especially since I came here alone. Overall, I am loving things thus far. Obviously, at the start there were hard times but that's to be expected when immigrating to a new country. Luckily, I have Nan, Mandy and the rest of the NZSWR on my side!

Living and working in the UK since March 2008. I felt it was time for my OE and I sent off emails to recruitment agencies in several countries. Well, one of the emails sent was to NZSWR. Within a few days of sending off my emails, I got a response from NZSWR… and it wasn’t just an email response, they called me that very weekend to discuss my plans to work in NZ. I was obviously quite excited especially after having struggled for a year previously with recruitment agencies in the UK. I was amazed at the quick response. Within 2 days I received all the paperwork via email and clear instructions as to how to proceed. That was the 29 Sept 2008. By end November 2008 I was all set to go and the team set up my first interview. I was well supported by the team prior to the interview and also received lots of information that prepared me for this interview. A week later the job was mine and I started my visa application. At the beginning of March I winged my way through to NZ.

This is just a brief account of my experience. What I especially appreciated about NZSWR’s way of working is: I am seen as a PERSON with needs and feelings…NZSWR have the personal touch so very important, even to us social workers. The team went to the extent of communicating with my family about my arrival (until I got connected with a mobile phone again). The team has also kept regular contact with me up until now (I’m here for 5 months) to find out how my child and I are settling in, and providing practical advice.

I have been really impressed by NZSWR and would recommend them as THE agency to deal with. They are knowledgeable, reliable and trusted in the social work market. I have always been in good hands and felt cared for by them. Thank you guys and keep it up NZSWR!!!

'... Having decided that a change in scenery and lifestyle would be beneficial, I chose to visit New Zealand.  It has, for many had a reputation of being ideal for those who want to enjoy a more outdoorsy, laid back lifestyle and achieve a more work life balance.     There was no concrete expectation of working in a professional capacity as I was just happy to have the opportunity to get away, travel and re-evaluate things.  I then made contact with New Zealand Social Work Recruitment, which really changed things.  If I’m going to be honest, I was initially somewhat cautious, especially when I was informed that I was required to sign a contract with term and conditions.  However, it was soon apparent that NZSWR were pretty well established, efficient and committed to secure me work.  The team was great.  They were just lovely and gave me good assistance and guided me through the vetting process, getting my social work qualifications assessed though the NZQA and importantly supported me through some of the knowledge needed during an interview.  Within the first week of arriving in New Zealand I had my first set up, in which I got the job working in Christchurch.  It was all really quick and seamless.

I would like to thank the NZSWR team for the help they have provided.  It really was a positive experience. Furthermore, I would also say to anyone wanting a bit of a different experience…then come to NZ.  It really is an incredibly beautiful place with great opportunities for a fantastic lifestyle and too get that balance back in your life...'

From the outset the process was very clear.  Nan and Mandy did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. I was pleasantly surprised and really appreciated the big effort they made on my behalf. They also worked some crazy hours they worked to ensure contact with myself and my referees. There hard work and good communication helped to ease my anxiety and made the transition relatively smooth and hassle free.

The team has an extensive practice background both in New Zealand and the UK and made the job application process easy. In terms of my interview the team spent a lot of time helping me to prepare and I can honestly say I've never been better prepared for an interview and I've had a fair few. I would strongly recommend this service to anyone wishing to pursue a social work career in New Zealand.

Just a quick note to say a very big Thank You!  The help, advice, support and assistance you gave to me and my family in our move to New Zealand was nothing short of outstanding.  Yourself and Nan guided us through the process painlessly and we are now happy and settled here in Tauranga.

I really appreciate the time, effort and thought you put in to finding me the perfect position, which I am thoroughly enjoying.  I'm working in a fantastic team, with a fantastic bunch of people and in the most beautiful location.

We've only been here 9 weeks and life has never been better.  New Zealand is stunning.  The people are friendly and the whole place has a relaxed and happy feel to it.

I would recommend to anyone that they make the move to New Zealand and if any of my Social Work colleagues from the UK are considering making the journey, I will be sure to point them in the direction of New Zealand Social Work Recruitment.

Even since our arrival in New Zealand, you have continued to offer support and advice which has been invaluable in helping us make the transition and for this I will be eternally grateful.

Again Thank You so much!

"I first contacted New Zealand Social Work Recruitment 2 years ago when I decided that I wanted to work in NZ. I was not expecting a lot as I heard that there were a lot of dodgy job agencies on the Net with fake promises, but I just wanted to give it a try, so I did it anyway.

I was very (pleasantly) surprised when NZSWR rang me up personally via trunk call after I gave her my initial details. She was honest enough to give me sound advice and told me that I needed more work experience for one year before I could be considered. From that single phone call, I knew that they could be trusted and that they would be the job agency that I would engage.

One year later, I got in touch with them again and the Team went through tremendous efforts to make sure that I was well-equipped to prepare me for a job in NZ. They advised me through every single detail from my qualifications to my driving license to my working visa and also offered me snippets of what life in NZ would be like.

Fast forward to present: I am now gainfully employed in a wonderful social work job in NZ and I must say that this was the best move that I had made in my life. Without New Zealand Social Work Recruitment, I would have never gotten this job and made the transition so easily. Coming from an Asian perspective, settling in was supposed to be more challenging, but it was not the case.

For anyone who wishes to pursue a career in social work in NZ, getting in touch with New Zealand Social Work Recruitment is definitely the first step and probably the only step one needs to make for the dream to become a reality! Thank you to NZSRW for making it all happen. I am indebted to all of you."

"In my early days of searching for a Social Work position in New Zealand I luckily came across the NZSWR website.

I remember feeling excited about finding a job recruitment service run by people that shared my passion for Social Work, because I could be assured that they spoke the same professional language as I did, and would understand my needs.

Fairly quickly, the team found me a position that closely matched my interests and clinical skills. I was also given support and the information I needed to confidently complete the application and interview process.

Now, I am happily beginning my adventure in Social Work in New Zealand thanks to the help of NZSWR!"

I am very pleased that I made the effort and took the chance of coming to New Zealand. I love Kiwis and I think New Zealand is the best to live in the world. New Zealand is a country of unparalleled beauty. The people are friendly. The social support system (health care, etc.) is good.

The staff members at New Zealand Social Work Recruitment Limited were very helpful and knowledgeable. I am not certain I would have secured a job without them. They seemed to have a better idea of what I needed job-wise than I did. They provided me with good advice in terms of relocation.

I am enjoying my job. It is useful to see how different social systems function to provide services to their populations. Employment opportunities exist in New Zealand that simply do not exist in my country of origin. For example, I have been able to broaden my therapeutic skills and widen my experience working with cultures different than those I was exposed to in the U.S.A. I am finding the work experience highly valuable.

Moving to another country is a huge risk. The whole experience could have been a disaster, but it has been wonderful. I have seen things and been places that I never imagined existed. My family members have visited and they love it. My friends are jealous.

I would sincerely recommend this service to any social worker who would like some supportive and practical help to finding employment in this unique country. Nau Mai!

I have been working with NZSWR, on and off, for fully two years, trying to sort out a professional social work job in Wellington. Though my circumstances have changed time and again Nan has always treated me with support, kindness, and understanding, weathering with equanimity and great senses of humour my various worries, confusions, and hysterical North American phone calls. Their encouragement during my job search process can't be overstated.

I recommend them without reservation to any social worker who is interested in practicing in New Zealand; you will find this organization willing to go above and beyond the call of duty.

"From my very first contact with the staff at the NZSW Recruitment Agency I have been impressed by their friendliness, efficiency and their professionalism.

They have been extremely helpful in providing information and tips around applying for jobs and even around removals and banking. They provided me with some very useful information around books to buy relating to NZ SW legislation and NZ history and culture.

They have given me assistance and support from identifying the area of work I wanted and the location, to preparation for the interviews and negotiating start dates.

They have kept in regular weekly contact, and despite the amount of people they must have on their books, they manage to make me feel that I am the only one and that they really do care about my future in NZ and ensuring I find the right job.

I would recommend them to anyone, if you are thinking of immigrating to NZ and what to work as a SW then you really need to speak to these guys first as their expertise and knowledge is invaluable."

"From my first contact with the NZSWR team they were there every step of the way with informative and supportive emails and phone calls.

I remember thinking it was going to be a long process but I am very surprised at how fast it has all gone.

I have been in NZ now for 9 weeks and am loving it. The team helped me through the job interviewing processes and helped with information about housing and living costs.

The team have wide knowledge and experience of the different practices in social work in New Zealand.

So if you are ever considering coming to NZ to do social work, I can highly recommend the NZSWR team as they are great at what they do. They have wide knowledge and experience of the different practices in social work in New Zealand. They have assisted me in finding the right position that I am qualified for.

A great team"

NZ Social work recruitment found me an excellent position in a really warm and welcoming team. My position is permanent which provides me with security in this difficult economic climate. I had alot of support at every stage of my journey. I had advice and encouragement on what has been a enormous move, perhaps the biggest ever!

I was well briefed before my interview and have been placed in an area of NZ which is great for bringing up a young family.I have been able to share some of my difficulties with the staff at the agency who have understood and have given me some excellent practical advice along the way. You need people you can trust to advise you on different issues and so far I have not been let down by the agency. They have been friendly and are always pleased to hear from me and how I am getting along.

It was July 2008 when my wife walked down the stairs and surprised me with the question "What do you think of New Zealand?" - we both fancied a change from recession-soaked Britain, and figured eleven-thousand miles should just about do it - "Flight of the Conchords?", came my inevitable reply.

So we set about Googling, and NZ Social Work Recruitment happened to pop up. An email later, and they were on the phone talking through opportunities. The process was actually pretty simple. I took their advice and bought a scanner so nobody had to wait for documents to arrive in the post. And I think the whole procedure of ratifying my Social Work qualification only cost me thirty pounds and took a matter of weeks to complete.

Eventually my first interview came up, but with some great advice and support from the team, I was able to get through the hour unscathed. I'm glad for the team's advice, and I must have done something right as I got the job.

My start-date afforded me a two week holiday in Wellington at the turn of the year, and my job here is a good reflection of the social work roles I've had in the UK. An advantage, I think, of Social Work in New Zealand is that you can really get to the core of the social work role, particularly in the community settings. I feel emancipated to perform my role without the blame culture and "covering your back" syndrome that predominates UK Social Work these days. Of course, the same issues of funding and resources exist in the same way over here - more so in some ways - but that's where your creativity comes in handy... and being a Social Worker considering working overseas, you should be well versed in that one by now.

I thought I would get in touch to thank all of you for the hard work that you have put into assisting me reach my dream of moving to New Zealand. As you know this wasn't a straight forward journey due to my specialisations in the U.K. and at times I didn't think we would get here. However you persevered and kept up the regular contact allowing me to move forward and not give up until we eventually obtained a position which allowed the move to go ahead. The information that you sent through at various times was invaluable in assisting not only the process of moving out and ensuring that everything was planned for, but also including getting a rental which would allow my two cocker spaniels, this again was not that difficult as I followed your advice and brought references for them and pictures all of which you advised me to do in the information that you sent.

Thank you for contacting me on a weekly basis and checking that I am ok this is really nice as I'm still on my own until my partner and dogs get out, I would happily recommend your agency to any other social workers looking for the adventure and the beauty of gods own country and all that comes with it. I can't say enough how much I have valued the information and support that you have provided throughout the process.

Many thanks

I am settling in well and it feels like I have been here all the time, you would not think I have been only been in work for 2 weeks.

I am so happy here, I am still working on a way of telling you how much I am so grateful for the support and help you gave me and I know that it was not easy as I was so busy towards the end. I am not sure how I will ever thank but I guess I can start by saying 'thank you' kia ora.

I have found you guys' professional, honest, efficient and will always go above what is expected and I am so grateful. I can't believe how fast everything was done and really awesome.

I recently returned home to New Zealand, having lived and worked in the UK for 5 years. On my return, many things were new and different. NZSW Recruitment took the stress out of the process of securing employment. I found all the team very helpful and the support that I got was invaluable in terms of helping me ease back into the work force.

I have recently arrived in New Zealand and have really felt the support of the staff at NZSW recruitment. They have basically walked me through the whole process from the first point of contact, securing a job and dealing with the formality of getting a visa sorted which with their expert advice only took three days to secure. I put the accuracy of their advice down to the fact that they specialise purely with social work recruitment and this seems to have definitely speeded up the process. The support doesn't stop there either, I still receive regular phone calls and valuable advise which is helping me through these early days.

If you are a social worker and thinking about moving to and working in New Zealand I would highly recommend the professional and friendly approach of NZSW recruitment.

I had contact with other recruitment companies before NZSWR and they just made alot of promises about coming back to me and trying to find something suitable. So I must be honest the first contact we had, I thought it's going to be the same from your side. Big was my surprise when you phoned back in 2 weeks with an application form for a job. Thank you for helping me step by step through out the whole process, from getting my degree recognised to preparing for the interview and answering all the questions we had about immigration and getting to NZ!!! During interviews they do things totally different than in South Africa, so thank you for all your support that gave me the confidence to do well in the interview. I received more phone calls from you that I can remember to empower me for this big move. Now that I'm here I realise the sacrifice you made to get up at 6h00 to phone me at a convenient time, so THANK YOU.

Thank you for your ongoing support even after we arrived, all your help with immigration and still phoning me on a weekly basis to confirm that all is well. Thank you for being willing to come to work in your holiday just to help me with a crisis. I would recommend NZSWR to any social worker, even if they are just thinking about moving to NZ, because they give you all the information you need without putting any pressure on you.

Thank you NZSWR. We appreciate all your help.

A million thank you's (Cead Mile Failte-in Irish) I cannot recommend using NZ SW Recruitment highly enough- The tem has been an absolute gem finding- giving advice and support above and beyond what i could even imagine or expect over the past year since my initial idea to move. The transition to working in NZ has been infinitely easier due to her support and direction. She even put me in touch with other girls moving to the same city so we can share the excitement & nerves etc that go with relocating.

I especially liked that even when i got lazy about sorting out registering in NZ she gave me encouragement and patience. They seemed to have answered all my questions before i even needed to get stressed and nervous and on absolutely everything from practical advice to interview tips and preparation etc.

I would recommend anyone thinking of embarking on a new adventure call NZSWR!!

I can recommend the services of the NZSWR to any Social Worker thinking of working in NZ. NZSWR were an encouragement right through.

The team continually gave information through and never drew back when I didn't understand or got lost in the protocol. She just explained the processes again and sent more information. Always being friendly and professional. I really appreciated practical examples from her vast experience that gave structure to the challenges I had to face. Her diligence to inform and guide me through the processes will always be remembered.

Nan's emails about integration into Southland Society with cheese rolls and custard slices went the extra mile in hospitality and warmth.

You are a great team, efficient and client centered. Thanks for everything!

I would like to thank the team of New Zealand Recruitment for a great support from the beginning until now. They helped me with information about which visa to apply for and got in contact with suitable employers.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to provide a reference for the New Zealand Social Work Recruitment Agency. There are so many great things I could say, however, I will keep it limited to two. Firstly, when I first decided to move to New Zealand I was terrified by the process because I didn't have a clue where to start. NZSWR did an amazing job of walking me through each step. Secondly, I was thrilled at how well they got to know me and my specific needs. A holistic approach was used in order to not only find a great job but the best fit for where to live as well. The team far exceeded my expectations by providing consistent support and making this process a breeze!

'I have found the services of NZ Social Work Recruitment Ltd absolutely invaluable - not only in helping to find me a job in an area I wanted to live in but also in giving me a wealth of other advice and information about re-locating to another part of the world.

This has been a huge step for my family and myself and, although the process is still ongoing, we could not have got this far and have been as prepared as we have been without the help of NZ Social Work Recruitment. Their attitude has always been helpful, friendly and, most of all, encouraging.'

'It is not the first time that I am preparing to work and live in a new country and I am able to compare your service with the advice and support I previously received and I can assure you that your agency wins hands down in absolutely all areas.

You have definitely developed and refined the programme to perfection and the fact that you are executing it with such kindness, commitment and courtesy is absolutely magnificent and truly inspiring; there is not one area that is not being addressed. From making contact with prospective employers to providing information for a successful interview, culminating in support when applying for a work visa and preparing for the eventual move to New Zealand, you have been there every step of the way with encouragement, advice and support.

The team's weekly telephone calls kept me on track, motivated, kept the dream of a new life in New Zealand alive and put to rest all questions, fears and anxieties. Finally, I cannot wait to meet you all in person and sincerely thank you for everything you have done for me to make my dream come true. A mere thank you just would not suffice and I do not think that I will ever be able to truly thank you enough for your guidance, help and support.

I wish you everything of the very best and I know that great success will be a logical consequence and a natural phenomena of everything you do.

Social workers world-wide wanting to establish a career abroad and the social work profession in New Zealand in particular are privileged and truly blessed by the services of an organisation such as New Zealand Social Work Recruitment as you are raising the stakes to a whole new level of supremacy.'

Please let me know if the above is in order, I wish to emphasise that it comes from the bottom of my heart and because it is based on a very real and true experience, it was one of the easiest tasks ever.

I have found New Zealand Social Work Recruitment so supportive and helpful. I am a social worker from the UK, with previous experience in the community based Family support/child protection sector. I am currently working in the mental health field doing hospital based social work.

Practicing in NZ has been a huge change and learning curve in itself, not to mention my client-base! NZSWR has been able to offer practical and useful advice and information around preparing for interviews, other vacancies in the region and immigration. I have found a friendly, prompt and professional response to all my queries and concerns, and would recommend New Zealand Social Work Recruitment to all social workers from overseas.

I would recommend NZSW Recruitment as I have found them very efficient and approachable. They were able to quickly find me an appropriate job in the location I wanted. They offered excellent support and guidance through the recruitment process and after I arrived in New Zealand.

As a worker from the UK, the NZSWR team have been able to guide me through the interview process and prepare me for what to expect working here. They have also been able to point me in the right direction about immigration issues and other practical things you need to know when moving countries.

Overall their approach is very supportive and now that I have started work it is good know that I could still ask their advice.

I heard about the NZSW Recruitment from a friend of mine who stay in NZ since December 2007. While still in South-Africa I sign a contract with NZSW Recruitment. Within the first week after signing the contract I was contacted by them and my whole process started.

My references were checked and all the necessary information was gathered while I was still in South-Africa. During this period I was also informed about various processes that I needed to complete and I started the process from South-Africa everything in order.

We arrived in NZ on 9th July 2008 and contact was constantly made with by the NZSWR team regarding the interviews and to inform me about any vacancies available.

I'm glad to report that I was successful in the second interview and I'm started to work on the 8th October 2008, 7 weeks after we arrived in NZ.

Since my first contact with NZSWR I just felt supported and a willingness to assist me and my family who where wanting to emigrate to New Zealand. As a social worker there were quite extensive opportunities in New Zealand. NZSWR tried to fit me in the best position, that suited me the best and also took my family and our needs into consideration. The continuous contact (even late at night) did not bother them and they were extremely supportive. The flow of information on working conditions and the country in general really helped my family adapt to a totally new and unfamiliar country.

My work experience at my current position, where NZSWR set up my first interview is up to now awesome. Thank you very much for your support!

Thank you for developing this support for those who are seeking social work employment in New Zealand from overseas! After my arrival in New Zealand, I could not imagine having to seek employment while in the midst of such an incredible transition of moving to another Country, not to mention learning to drive on the opposite side of the road! I feel very grateful to have had a job upon landing. Your agency knew all the steps required and organized information for me that I would never have known how to do on my own without much time and energy researching. I would not have known where to start! Thank you for organizing the informal conversation, and the interview. Thanks for your encouragement in being patient through the process. Some things I'd like to say:

The staff at the recruiting agency were so helpful! I was guided through all the tedious processes of applications and all the paperwork that was required for these.

Working in New Zealand has been a dream of mine for some time! I wanted to truly experience living, working in and exploring another country. I had struggled on my own for some time before finding out about New Zealand Social Work Recruitment. A friend of mine highly recommended the organisation to me and I made contact.

Throughout the months leading up to my move over to New Zealand I worked hand in hand with the team, relying on them especially through the interview period. They were great! It's super that there is a group of people who offer this service and do it so well, whom without I would not be where I am today.

I've been working in my fixed term position in Christchurch for six weeks now and have already learnt so much. I have settled into life here and am loving it! One of the best things about NZSWR is that I still get a call from the team to check in and see how I'm doing!

I am very grateful to Nan and Mandy for their hard work in supporting me to live this dream!

I would like to join in to voice my appreciation for all the help I received in my making my transition to NZ smooth.

I first came to NZ in June 2007 as a visitor and looking for a suitable opening in the line of social work, I was in the catch 20 situation as I was unable get a job without a Work Visa or a Work Visa without a job.

This was when I came across NZSWR.

With there years of professional expertise you helped me sail through the process, assisting me through the process and with your support in getting my work permit I was able to move with family. This kind of a physical and emotional move was only possible through your timely persistence.

I am presently at a DHB and I think this is right place for me to fit in especially since I have extended family here. I find my colleagues friendly & willing to help me transmit my social work skills, while your Weekly conversations are encouraging me to face new challenges.

Thank you,

I would just like to thank the team for all the hard work they put into finding a job for me in New Zealand. Coming over has always been something that I wanted to do, but I never knew how to go about doing it. Then one day a random email to NZSWR changed all of that for me.

I remember thinking that this was going to be a lengthy process, but now looking back I'm surprised at how fast it all went, and the team was there every step of the way, whether it was with supportive emails, informative emails or just answering general questions that I had. It felt amazing to know that someone was there with/for me every step of the way, and that also made the move easier. I've been in New Zealand for about 7 weeks now, and I'm loving it.

It was almost one year ago that I began looking for an international social work job to expand my current social work experience and to have to opportunity to learn another culture. About one year later I am currently employed as a social worker here in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Before I had my first interview with NZSWR I was apprehensive about the whole experience and not really sure I wanted to leave a life I was comfortable with and a job that I knew, I didn't know if I wanted to upset my stable life. After my interview with NZSWR I knew this was an adventure that I would like to take and a chance of a lifetime. Though I had my doubts along the way and at times now I get a little homesick I am sure that I made the right decision.

I can't say enough about the Agency. They were so helpful along my journey, giving me support, checking in with me, and helping me to find a job. There was no question they didn't answer. I would recommend this Agency to anyone who might be thinking about taking a job in social work here in New Zealand.

I immediately felt very welcome and we had a good chat about my education and experiences. During the process of finding a suitable job, they gave me tremendous support and a lot of pep talks! (which I needed, especially before an interview).

Nothing is too much trouble for them, they are doing their job with a lot of knowledge and professionalism and their enthusiasm is overwhelming. They stick to their promises, are very competent and were always enquiring about myself and my family.

So, a Hugh thanks to you, Kirsty (and Mandy), for all the support during the last few months, you were always more than happy and enthusiastic in our conversation and phone calls, you were a tremendous support and I really couldn’t have done this without you! THANK YOU.

Looking for a job in our fields when you are a professional from overseas feels like “Mission Impossible”. As you start hunting for a job you realise that there is an impressive number of obstacles such as cultural differences, different qualification and expectations, social issues and language.

Further more the employers can be unsure and uncertain about employing someone from overseas as they don’t always understand all the implications in relation to Registration and Immigration. In my journey looking for a job I was becoming quite tired and frustrated… I sent off lots of CV and I only received two positive answers… however… the interviews didn’t go well as everything happened differently than I was used to in my own country.

Finding NZSWR was the best thing that could happen to me. Their support… assured me that I could get my job as social worker! And the result is more than a job, I am working in a place I always dreamed of.

NZSWR helped me out in many ways; she has shown me what New Zealand employers expect from a social worker and what the needs are. She took the time to understand more about me and my work experience and use that information to locate the right job. When she got the interview for me she contacted me to make everything clear. She gave me all the information I needed to understand the Organisation I had an interview with and she gave me guidance on how to prepare myself. As a result my strengths and weakness became clearer to myself and I’ve got the job that goes with my beliefs, experience and dreams.

All the documentation needed to get my work visa was very well organised and with support from NZSWR was issued in a short period. I’ve been working for 2 months and I’m really happy with all I’ve learned and improved in my job, as well as feeling good about what I’ve contributed.

Thank you for all your support NZSWR.
I will always keep in touch!

Just sending along a few words to say thanks for all the support and guidance the NZSWR gave me during the recruitment process.  My husband and I have been in New Zealand for just over a month and it has all come together nicely.  I owe so much of that ease to the team.  Before I knew it our dream became this reality and we are enjoying and growing from it all.  I encourage those browsing this website to give it a try because you are never alone in the process.

Thanks again for all that you have done and we will see you on the beach.

I initially found trying to find work in New Zealand very daunting, until I found the NZSWR recruitment and spoke with the team. The speed at which my first interview date arrived was incredible and the support and preparation provided was first rate. Two weeks after sending my documents I had a permanent job offer. I cant describe how much I appreciate NZSWRs help.

As a newly qualified British Social Worker I was looking to combine travel and work for an exciting and challenging start to my career.  New Zealand Social Work Recruitment Ltd met these needs by working with me to find me a suitable placement which I could take up on my arrival in New Zealand.

The friendly and efficient staff guided me tirelessly through the entire process, matching my experience to job opportunities, presenting me with a range of exciting options, keeping me informed through regular e-mail contact and even helping out with practicalities such as visa requirements.  They also followed up on my placement by checking out that I was content with the work they had found for me.  They made the whole process of job hunting smooth and painless, with all interviews conducted over the phone in advance of my arrival.

I have now completed a first fixed term contract as a Residential Social Worker with young offenders which was a dynamic, culturally-stimulating and challenging practice experience.  I am looking forward to pursuing further work in this field as New Zealand offers the ideal setting to combine the work-life balance of starting a career in Social Work in one of the most stunning and laid-back countries on earth.

I would thoroughly recommend this service to any social worker who would like some invaluable, personalised, supportive and practical help to find employment in this beautiful country.

I really wanted to thank you for all the assistance you and your staff have given me. Finally, I have the job as a social worker. Words are not enough to say how grateful I am to you all. I believe you are doing a noble job for everyone especially for a migrant like me.

It is also much appreciated that you still get in touch with me up to this time just to make sure that I am all right. To me, that is a character I will never forget. I admire you for that.

Concerning my work, I am doing fine. I have few cases now. I get awesome support from my workmates and I hope it will stay that way. Thank you so much indeed. How I wish I could meet you personally and express my gratitude.

I got in contact with NZSWR when I was looking for employment in New Zealand. I worked as a Social Worker back in Germany but didn't have my qualifications internationally approved. The team offered great professional support from the first second on. She was very helpful getting my documents and qualifications approved and also helped me with getting my work permit. Before I met the team I started my application for residency with an independent agency which cost me a lot of money but didn't help at all. I ended up having a lot of trouble. Thanks to NZSWR who fixed all my problems with the immigration service, I got my work permit in just a few days.

I have never worked as a Social Worker in New Zealand before and was very nervous regarding my interview via teleconference. The team has an excellent knowledge and have worked for CYF for a long time. They gave me the best advice you can ever get and was willing to answer all my questions and filling my knowledge gaps. The staff, has an incredible amount of knowledge about Social Work but also immigration requirements, has enabled me to secure a position with CYF. NZSWR is an incredible support and offers ongoing advice and help.

I highly recommend this organization to every Social Worker from overseas who would like to work as a Social Worker in New Zealand. The transition and especially issues regarding immigration is very difficult, requires patience and is very stressful and hard. I had times when I struggled but the team's sincerity, trust and expertise gave me the strength I needed to go through this process. NZSWR has helped me being placed in a work environment best suited to me.

NZ Social Work Recruitment has the win! Their knowledge, experience and cheery voice helped me through all the complexities of applying for social work positions in New Zealand. I moved over from Oz, and she made the daunting mountain of tasks that needed to happen smooth sailing and one of the less stressful elements of such a move. It was really great to work with a recruiter who gets to know you as a professional and assists every step of the way through the placement process. I've also valued the ongoing contact and support that NZSWR provides for people whom she has placed. I am delighted to recommend NZSWR to any social workers seeking to work in New Zealand.

I must extend a huge thank you to Mandy and Kirsty for all their help through my relocation to New Zealand. It was a very spontaneous decision on my part to look for work abroad and NZSWR could not have made the transition any easier. The team was in touch with me on a regular basis, helping to make my resume NZ friendly, giving me step by step instructions regarding assessments, permits and visas. Two months following our first contact, I had been employed by the Auckland District Health Board and was planning my move!

The assistance and guidance from the NZSWR team did not end with my arrival in Auckland; rather they have continued to support me through the transition of learning about a new job and new country!

For all social workers thinking about relocating to New Zealand I highly recommend contacting NZSW recruitment Ltd to help with the move. These 3 women managed to make a daunting task into quite a pleasurable experience!!! Thanks Mandy and Kirsty!

After living in Palmerston North New Zealand for some years, I decided to go back into the Social Work field. But issues like: how will my German Qualification fit in, what organizations are out there, how is the Social Work field in Aotearoa, what is expected, how do I write a CV for Kiwi standards... made it too overwhelming to go on by myself.

Fortunately I found out about NZSWR through a friend. After meeting with the team I felt very positive and confident to go back into the Social Work field, due to her positive attitude, experience and professionalism. I was overwhelmed how quickly I received the first job offers through NZSWR and how much support I got to prepare for an interview. After starting my Social Work position I felt a genuine interest from the team about my happiness and wellbeing in the work place. Thank you NZSWR for all your efforts, advocacy and support!

My initial contact with NZSWR was in February 2007 when I decided to inquire about employment opportunities in New Zealand. In the seven months that I have been working with the organization, NZSW Recruitment, I have found her along with her staff to be nothing short of professional.

The ongoing personal contact, information sharing, knowledge, and expertise along with a very fine personal touch has enabled me to secure a position - after much preparation -again provided by NZSWR; in Christchurch, New Zealand.

The ongoing contact from NZSWR has been an added bonus to my accepting a position overseas as sometimes the transition can be difficult both mentally and emotionally. Throughout this time, again NZSWR has proven to be more than just a professional support, but her sense of honesty and sincerity, has been a reflection of her commitment to ensuring that international social workers are placed in a work environment best suited to them.

Heya, I would really love to share with you my story about coming to Nelson, the most beautiful place on the south island. Originally I’m from Germany and after I finished my studies and got some work practise I decided together with my husband to immigrate to New Zealand, as we have been here for 6 week holiday and we really fell in love with the lifestyle, especially the outdoor life. So we started the immigration process from Germany and through chatting in the internet I recognized that it is possible to work together with recruiting agencies. That was new for me, especially that they didn’t charge me a fee. All I had to do was prepare my work practise from Germany and my CV, because at this stage my qualifications had been already checked through the NZQA. After I signed the contract, the amazing team started their work with me immediately. I got a lot of support to prepare for interviews and once a week we had a telephone conference.

After one month they had organized me a telephone interview with an employer in Nelson and this went so well, that the manager decided to employ me from overseas. In my deepest dreams I would have never expected that this would happen, as I got in contact with NZ Social Work Recruit. Another two weeks later I held my contract in my hands and was the happiest person on earth. I started my work at the beginning of June 07 and I’m absolutely happy in my job. The Social Work we provide is so professional and Nelson is a wonderful place to live and to work. With about 50.000 citizens it has a good size and with the most amount of sunshine hours a year and the sea, National parks and wineries around it is the best thing that could happen to me. After I started my work my contact person from the recruiting agency called me once a week to encourage me and offer me helps wherever I needed it. I’m very satisfied with their service, as I would have never been able to get the position on my own! Thank you so much!!!!

I'm a 23 year old Social Worker from Australia and late last year I decided I wanted to move to New Zealand to further my career, explore new opportunities and try something different.  I had no idea where to start, what I needed to do or who to ask. I decided to check out the internet and found the New Zealand Social Work Recruit website.  I sent off an email explaining my situation, but didn’t really think much of it as the task of moving countries seemed too big to tackle.

I received an email back the very next working day and from there things really began.  The staff at New Zealand Social Work Recruitment were very helpful and supportive, they gave me tonnes of information, pointed me in the right direction, answered my many questions and assisted me every step of the way.  They would touch base with me every couple of days with email and phone calls keeping me informed on everything from what paperwork I needed to complete, jobs coming up in the area of my choice, tips for preparing for interviews, support before and after interviews and advocating on my behalf with possible employers.

Now that I have made the move and am settled into my new job and home things couldn’t be better, my original 6month contract has been made permanent and I am finding New Zealand a rewarding and enriching change. New Zealand Social Work Recruit still keep in touch for support and guidance. They have been an invaluable resource in this huge change in my life and made the experience of finding employment from many miles away much easier.

I just wished to thank you for all your hard work in finding me a Social Work position in New Zealand. The job and the country have exceeded my expectations (why did I leave it so long!).

It was a major task to uproot the family including the two dogs! And I have appreciated your help and support through the immigration process. It is not just your efficiency at finding me employment that has been so good but also your attention to other detail that has helped make the move as easy and stress free as possible.

Thanks also for taking the trouble to stay in touch, not just with me but my wife; since I started work, your support has been appreciated.

I have whole heartedly recommended you to other English friends who are thinking of doing the same as me and know that they will receive the same thorough, professional and friendly service as my family and I did!

I just want to say how fortunate I feel to have come across New Zealand Social Work Recruitment just a few months ago.

I feel that NZSWR has a very personal touch and they provide a high level of care and attention to everything they do. They are also genuinely concerned about your welfare and professional development and sincerely aim to get you the best possible job.

I found the team at NZSWR extremely supportive in my transition from Ireland to New Zealand. They made me feel confident that I would get a job, but also advised me on interview techniques and relevant legislation in New Zealand, which I now believe was invaluable to me securing the social work position I have today. It was also very helpful that the team is so friendly and approachable to work with. I feel that I can contact her at anytime and that she will be able to speak with me and advise me on various issues both professional and personal.

I would like to thank all the team at NZSWR for providing me with a thoroughly professional and friendly service, and for helping me secure a brilliant job in such a short time!! I would wholeheartedly recommend NZSWR to anybody.

I would like to write this reference for your company for a number of reasons. I am a New Zealander who has been working in the United Kingdom for nearly seven years in Social Work. I returned in December 06 and found that I knew nothing about the New Zealand recruitment process for Social Work.

You were exceptionally helpful from day one. I appreciate the time you spent with me outlining which services would best suit my skills, and your persistence in liaising with team managers - which ultimately got me my current role.

I have worked in the Recruitment sector for over 2 ½ years and found you professional, knowledgeable, efficient and proactive. A rare trait in this industry. In addition to your assistance, your personality was one of the main reasons I remained with your recruitment agency.

I would have no hesitation in recommending you to my peers or to prospective employers.

I am sending this note to you by way of Mandy to thank you for your phone call today. I am very encouraged by your initiative to make contact in order to discuss my position in relation to working in New Zealand. This certainly reflects the diligence, consideration and mindset of the recruitment work you and your agency engage in. I look forward to remaining in contact and advising you about my future decision and desire to work abroad.

Just a moment to pause in my busy life to write about my experience of you and being recruited through your agency...!

"I moved to New Zealand with my partner and two children in February 2006 and the plan was to settle and re-adjust for up to twelve months. After afew months I was becoming more and more curious about Social Work in New Zealand. I looked at job adverts in the local paper but nothing really caught my eye and then I did a search on the internet and came across NZSW Recruitment and sent them an email. They responded immediately by email and followed up with a telephone call when the children were in bed and I had some time for an adult conversation!

We discussed through my work requirements and plan of getting into work in New Zealand.. NZSWR left the ball in my court and at no time did I feel under pressure (unlike some recruiters!). We had no communication for several months because I was moving house and busy with my young family..........I suddenly felt the time was right and emailed NZSWR that I was ready to be 'recruited'. This was a Thursday and by the following Monday I was attending an interview which suited the hours I wanted to work and was in a setting that suited my skills and experience.

I feel that NZSWR was 'with me' throughout this whole process - she was very supportive and reassuring. The fact that she was on the phone to one of my UK referees at 5am is a very clear indication of her commitment to me! I have been working for two months now and the team has phoned and emailed to see how I am doing.

NZSWR operates an excellent recruitment service and I have no hesitation in recommending NZSW Recruitment to Social Workers thinking of coming to New Zealand from the UK. I still feel able to contact them at anytime, if I have any questions, concerns and certainly when I want to explore future Social Work opportunities in New Zealand!"

I was in New Zealand already for a couple of months and couldn't find work. I applied and applied with no positive result. It made me feeling drained and I was already thinking about going back to Europe.

NZSWR accompanied me in an excellent way. I have not only been very impressed with the quality of service I have received from her, also with her very positive, optimistic way to handle things - she is clear, reliable, efficient, professional and - above all - encouraging.

Thank you very much! I would not have made it without your help!

You asked me for some feedback on your service and I thought you might like to know this. The other day I was having lunch with my manager, and we talked about employing new people.

I asked how you two got in contact and then, talking about you, she said that of all recruitment agencies, she had with you the best experience. And I could tell she was honest! She said you were very obliging, always asking what else she needed, calling when you said you would and you took care of most of the work she wouldn't have time for or wouldn't know where to start (verifying my qualification for example).

And when I started thinking how I got to you, I realised that your website is very inviting. Most websites have these set forms as the only way to contact them. On that form they ask for so many details, including a summary of CV, that it takes way too long to fill out. One would spend all that time and 9 out of 10 it doesn't even bring you anything (either it turns out not what you're looking for, or they just never get in contact). After contacting so many websites, I was just tired of filling in all those details, so I skipped it.

All I had to do on your website was just to drop a quick note and see what happens. And what happened was that you contacted me straight away and didn't let go.

It was a very good experience and whoever looks for a social work recruitment agency, I will defenitely recommend you. I'm sorry that I have nothing to complain and nothing to suggest for improvement.

I wanted to express my appreciation for your help in securing my social work position in New Zealand. I have been working for over three months now, and am so pleased to be in this job, and in this country.

You were brilliant in suggesting the lecturing position, even though at first I balked at the idea of accepting anything that wasn't purely hands-on social work practice. I am fortunate you had the vision to see that my skills and experiences would qualify me for this role, and that you encouraged me to give the opportunity serious consideration. Even though social work practice itself is largely the same in most countries, I've found there are differences in role content in jobs that I could not have anticipated. Your guidance in deciding on the right position for my skills and abilities was critical to my “safe landing” in New Zealand.

I appreciate your providing information when I had specific concerns throughout the move, and I am grateful that you continue to check in on me as I settle into this work environment. Your advice and professionalism has made all the difference. I am grateful!

Sincerely
Mary Ellen

NZSWR is not just a company it has a name, face and driving force behind it.

The team initially called me to reply to a general email enquiry I had. Never has a person from a company called me to follow up a general email enquiry. I live in Christchurch and her in Palmerston North. She called me after hours at 7pm after prior arrangements with myself. This is indicative of the special treatment that I received by her company. Furthermore, while she was in England she still took the time to read and respond to an email enquiry that I had. I was stressing out and she took the time to say that everything would be OK. It's not juts a job to her she takes time out to give personal touches where many businesses fail.

I offered to write a recommendation for her because I want other people to know what a fantastic person and a great business that she has. In fact I know I couldn't have done this without her.

Some people have hesitations about joining recruitment agencies but my experience is extremely positive and I can't rave about it enough. My interest is criminal justice and the team found me a job in my field of choice.
